LONE VISITOR

Texas
In November 2012, I drove from Minnesota all the way to Texas for my best friend’s “Big Texas Weddin’.” On the way, I visited Dealey Plaza.
On 22 November 1963, my grandfather waited at his place of work for a very special guest who was scheduled to make a speech.
President John F. Kennedy never made it to the Dallas Trade Mart to give his speech; assassinated on his way.
His son, my uncle, who was in high school at the time in Irving, retells what he experienced on that day.
“Students ran through the hallways of the school and shouted, ‘The South Will Rise Again!’”
